Balcony/Patio doors Empty
PostSubject: Balcony/Patio doors   Balcony/Patio doors EmptyWed Oct 16, 2019 5:38 pm

Hi all,

The locks on the balcony/patio doors are pretty flimsy and I would like to change them.

Has anyone fitted a more secure lock? I was thinking of a patio door bolt type lock but not sure if this would work.

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony
I’m in the middle of sorting the same problem. Just picked up some of those spring loaded locks (€1.59) at Leroy Merlin today to attach to bottom of sliding door. Only problem is; it’s easy to lock yourself outside! You attack the lock with 2 screws to the sliding door and drill a hole for the bolt in the other one

Hi Stevie,
I guess its the spring loaded aspect that presents the problem of being locked out. The patio locks I'm familiar with are not spring loaded, perhaps that's the way to go?
